InSpiration is the name of the new rest and faith space in
Westfield Stratford City.
It is the only faith zone in the biggest urban shopping centre in Europe, and we are looking for local believers to act as Welcomers.
The Space.
InSpiration is designed as a worship and prayer area, and also as a quiet space.
It is the one way for reaching weary or stressed staff and shoppers in this new shopping centre.
It is a place primarily for individuals to drop in, but it also hosts gatherings during the week and at important festivals. Some outside groups also use it from time to time.
It is a large room on the 3rd floor near the Food Court. There is an open area which will be used for collective activities such as religious services, prayer meetings, Bible studies and formal talks. There is a smaller area with armchairs and tables for private prayer, quiet time, one-on-one conversations and small groups.

Note: inSpiration is a facility which is used by people of all faiths and none. It is therefore a place for serving individuals and for quiet prayer; it is not a Christian Chapel or a venue for evangelism. From time to time you may well find yourself able to answer specific faith questions asked by visitors.
One of the largest groups of users are Muslims on Fridays and Westfield Management has specifically provided suitable washing facilities.

What will I do?
Welcomers may have some specific light duties but the main thing is to welcome people into the space and to help them make the most of it.
We are looking for people to staff the facility in a variety of time slots. InSpiration is open
11am to 7pm Mondays to Saturdays, and
11am to 5pm on Sundays.
Cover an hour or two on a weekly or fortnightly rota.
Get fuller details from the chaplain and bid for a time that suits you best!
An enhanced DBS check is required.
Before you start you will have relevant training to help you settle in and be effective in this ministry.

The inSpire charity is open to Churches, Christian groups and organizations, and also to individuals who want to become members. Current members cover a wide range of traditions and practices including Anglicans, Methodists, Roman Catholics, Baptists and people from Free Churches. We also have letters of support from leaders of other faiths.
